Left v Right – University Edition

Left v Right is a short weekly debate on selected current affairs stories broadcast by Naujawani.com. Lasting just 4 minutes, the discourse features two individuals mooting contrasting views about a topical news story making headlines that week globally, from within the UK, or in the Sikh/Punjabi world. The show aims to get people engaged with different views of everyday events, fostering a greater sense of tolerance and understanding for opinions that aren’t our own.

We’re delighted to announce that we are taking Left v Right into University campuses across the country to bring back the art of debate amongst Sikh students! Each month we’ll be visiting a different University Sikh society to host a Left v Right competition amongst members and selecting a winner to take each monthly crown. Debates will be recorded to be broadcast on the Naujawani.com youtube channel as part of the series – Sikh soc members who wish to contribute without featuring on camera will still be able to do so! To arrange a Left v Right University Edition for your Sikh Society send us a message using the form below.

In April 2014, we’ll be hosting the first SikhSocs.com debating championships for University teams to battle against each other and where one Sikh society will be crowned winners with a cash prize! Competing teams must have participated in a Left v Right University Edition, so don’t waste any time and get in touch to book your University Sikh soc’s Left v Right event today!
